Hello CheckiO users! 🙂

As you all probably know, CheckiO allows you to create your own missions starting from Level 9. Each mission will go through the process of community verification on the Polygon Station and once per two weeks we move several new missions from Polygon to other islands.

But today I'd like to say Thank You to two of our amazing authors who contributed a lot not only by creating new missions but also by helping users, who are new to Python.

👉 Phil15. Who’s missions are the awesome adaptation of Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection. Those puzzles are fun to play, but thanks to Phil15, they are even more fun, because we can use code to play with those puzzles. We even created a dedicated station for those puzzles - Maya.

His new mission today is Roll the cube and your task here is to color the uncolored cube entirely by rolling it on a rectangular grid with six colored cells.

# "WSENWENNWSS" or "WNNESSNSSWNEWESWE" or ...

👉 kurosawa4434. Who is not only helping Phil15 with creating animations to his amazing missions, but also created 35 missions himself. His missions often involve some geometry, so if you are a game developer, it's worth checking those out. What I like the most about his missions is that they always include bright visualization, so when your solution fails, you literally see why.

His new mission today is Park Benches where you need to remove some benches to ensure the social distance and find the total length of the benches left.

park_benches([(0, 2), (3, 3)], 2) == 3                  # [(3, 3)]
park_benches([(1, 3), (6, 5), (13, 4)], 3) == 7         # [(1, 3), (13, 4)]
park_benches([(1, 2), (5, 6), (13, 3)], 3) == 6         # [(5, 6)]

🔥 Since those CheckiO players already have a huge fan base, we've decide to launch two new fun badges today. Phil15 Fan and kurosawa4434 Fan for those who have solved their missions. Those badges have levels, depending on how many missions you have solved.

🛠️ Also, recently we have finished updating the servers and now our website should be working much faster. This significant speed acceleration has been demanded by many users, so we did our best to improve your experience in CheckiO. Feel free to tell us how you enjoy this improvement.

🏋 Our congratulations to the winner of January 2021 - kdim - you are totally Awesome and we are very glad to have you here with us! 👏
